Brazilian journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe reported information from five different sources: Nintendo plans to release its next console, Switch 2, in the first quarter of 2025.
He also noted that Nintendo intends to launch games alongside the new console in the same quarter. Earlier, Reuters reported that Switch 2 would continue using Nvidia chips.
Additionally, two media outlets, Eurogamer and VGC, cited independent sources confirming similar information.
Eurogamer initially reported hearing “similar rumors” from industry insiders this week but had not received specific confirmation. Later, they confirmed that Switch 2 would be released in Q1 2025.
Previously, VGC reported Nintendo’s plan to release Switch 2 by the end of 2024, but they updated their report today. VGC stated they learned from multiple sources that Nintendo would launch the new console in the first quarter of 2025.
The next-generation Nintendo console may follow a release schedule similar to the Switch, which released in March following its announcement the previous year.
